Will Blue Dragon 2 Arrive in 2008?

It's clear Blue Dragon was planned from the start to be a franchise. Talk of a sequel began before the game's release in North America and a DS spin-off is confirmed as in the works. So when will that inevitable sequel be coming? Comments from Xbox Japan head Takashi Sensui (via CVG) suggest it could be next year already.

Xbox 360 sells 50 million, Kinect 8 million

During Microsoft's CES 2011 keynote it was revealed that more than 50 million Xboxes have been sold worldwide. It was also revealed that the Kinect peripheral has sold over 8 million units worldwide which surpassed Microsoft's initial forecast of 5 million units. At the keynote Microsoft also announced new features coming to Kinect such as the ability to control Netflix and Hulu with it as well as controlling the players avatar to interact with other avatars.

Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that former chief operating officer John Schappert will return to that position on July 14, ending a two-year stint at Xbox 360 maker Microsoft.

A chap over at Neogaf’s uncovered some new game titles while sniffing around on Microsoft’s site for Banjo shots, including what looks to be a new Viva Pinata game and a Scene It? sequel. Given how watertight info on tomorrow’s Gamer’s Day has been so far, do die of shock if you see this lot announced tomorrow. The ussual list with CoD4 and Halo 3 at the top two spots. R6V:2 shows up at number 3 Guitar Hero 3 and Gears of War round out the top ten. With the upcoming map pack for CoD4 coming out it looks like it is going to be a long run for our Modern combat players.

The arrival of DirectX 10 was much anticipated. Unfortunately, it's also been heavily criticised. DirectX 10 was released as an exclusive for Microsoft's latest desktop OS, Windows Vista, leaving Windows XP (and 2000) users comfortable with their current setup chagrined.

MSFT Faces Second Disc Suit

After a previous suit was filed earlier this month by Jorge Brouwer, Christine Moskowitz has filed a second class-action suit in California regarding alleged repeated disc scratching. The filing aims for no less than $5 million in damages.
