Microsoft Makes Amends with "Screwed" 360 Gamer

Joystiq - March 22, 2008

Submitted by NeoZero (551) at 7:46PM PST on March 22, 2008

"Included in said delivery was a handful of games and, most notably, a new 360 signed by the Xbox team, Bungie (including replacement artwork by Rooster Teeth Comics' Luke McKay) and, with the flourish of a solid gold pen, Bill Gates. Whether you call it an act of kindness or a lesson in public relations, we think it's a neat gesture from the folks at Microsoft..."

Microsoft Unsuccessful At Immersion Lawyer Block

Gamasutra - March 11, 2008

Submitted by sagexsdx (148) at 10:56PM PST on March 11, 2008

Part of Microsoft's $26 million settlement agreement with [Immersion] reportedly stipulated that it would be entitled to a payment in the event that Immersion reached a settlement with Sony as well. Microsoft and Immersion are back in court over this latest dispute, with Microsoft aiming to block law firm Irell and Manella from representing Immersion in the case. Judge Ricardo Martinez refused the motion, however, to disqualify all of the firm's attorneys.

XBLA Royalty Rate Changes - Closer To The Truth?

GameSetWatch - February 24, 2008

Submitted by llonesmiz (508) at 12:40AM PST on February 25, 2008

So, one of the big stories from earlier this week was Kotaku's one on Microsoft apparently 'cutting XBLA royalties in half'.One of the problems here, of course, is that Kotaku's report only had one side of the story - and Microsoft will not discuss original or current royalty rates in public. Which leads us to a problem to be resolved - did Microsoft really cut its XBLA royalty rates in half without _ANY_ changes to the developer package? The answer is no.

Wish List 2008: Microsoft

GameInformer - December 15, 2007

Submitted by feelmyring (351) at 2:29PM PST on December 15, 2007

"We wrap up our three-part series with a look at Microsoft. The company recently released its fall update, which added a slew of changes to the Xbox 360. Best of all, several of the things it changed and added addressed complaints that users had been grumbling about for a long while. That’s not to say Microsoft can kick back and take it easy now—we have even more demands, including a couple that have been bugging us for nearly two years."

X360 Sold Out in Japan (New Shipment Next Month!)

Kotaku - August 19, 2008

Submitted by mrahaju (9) at 3:44AM PST on August 20, 2008

X360 is sold out across the whole country. It's so sold out that Microsoft Japan actually put out an official statement about the situation in The Land of the Rising Sun, apologizing for the lack of consoles. Since demand has eclipsed supply, Microsoft's supply has gone totally dry. The company is ramping up production, and the console will not be shipped to stores until next month.
