Rachet and Clank: Quest for Booty Review : 7/10

Eurogamer - August 20, 2008

Submitted by apujanata (14935) at 7:07AM PST on August 21, 2008

We discover it ends so quickly. Beside the length, the lack of new weapons is also disappointing. The wrench abilities are nice, but they're no substitute for a new Groovitron. There's no Trophy support either - apparently the game was already complete when Sony patched in the PS3's new Achievement-esque reward system. Quest for Booty is a solid, funny little platform game with good camerawork and controls.

Sony on Fortune's "Dumbest Biz Moments" Twice

1up.com - December 18, 2007

Submitted by CrAzZyYmAn (606) at 4:05PM PST on December 18, 2007

Making fun of Sony has turned kind of vogue in the past year, which wasn't exactly hard most of the time. But, somewhere along the line, their luck started to turn around, and the press got tired of constantly kicking a company that was down. Well, apparently Fortune didn't get the memo.

Sony cuts price of new Blu-ray player [PS3 next?]

Yahoo - June 4, 2007

Submitted by Starless (12) at 2:53AM PST on June 4, 2007

"With dominance of the market for high-definition movie discs still up in the air, Sony Corp said Monday it is including a small surprise with the new Blu-ray disc player it is shipping this week: a price tag $100 lower than previously announced. When Sony announced the BDP-S300 player in February, it put the price at $599, but it has now set a list price at $499. That means the new player costs half of what the company's first Blu-ray player cost when it launched just six months ago, probably one of the fastest price declines in the consumer electronics industry. The new player has essentially the same capabilities as the older BDP-S1 but is smaller. The price cut is due to falling production costs and the growing demand for Blu-ray products, according to Chris Fawcett, vice president of Sony Electronics' home products division." Looks like Sony isn't afraid to cut prices to remain competitive. PS3 next?

Sony To Unveil "Next Generation" SingStar At...

Kotaku - July 17, 2008

Submitted by oznerol (1) at 6:39AM PST on July 17, 2008

That's what SCEE boss David Reeves said, anyways. Responding to questions concerning iNiS' Lips - in particular how it pays more than a passing resemblance to Sony's Singstar - Reeves has said "If you come to Leipzig, you will see the next generation of SingStar". What an odd thing to say. We thought the "next generation" of SingStar Was already out. Came out on the PS3 last year. Surely it hasn't been that big a disaster they're replacing it already?
