Nintendo has denied neglecting core gamers and claims to have new projects based on existing IP in development with "all development teams". "We have never neglected our core gamers. We still have developers working on popular core gaming franchises but we need longer to complete these games, approximately two to three years," the company told the October issue of Edge. "These games are not ready to launch in early 2009 but are being worked on by all development teams."

In its latest issue, Famitsu reports on the top ten stories concerning Nintendo as ranked by gamers and retailers. It's unanimous, Japanese gamers and retailers alike view Capcom's decision to make the next game in the tremendously popular Monster Hunter series a Wii exclusive as the most important story of 2007 for Nintendo. Nintendo's stock gained 7.8 percent to 68,800 yen at the close of trading, its biggest gain since July 26. ``An upward revision of full-year earnings targets is likely,'' Hiroshi Kamide, a Tokyo-based analyst at KBC Securities Japan with a ``buy'' rating on the company, said by telephone today. ``It's natural that expectations are high ahead of the year-end shopping season.''

A comprehensive list of all the Wii and DS games coming out til the end of 2007, as well as ones for the Q1 of 2008. Nintendo claims that the Wii will have 140 titles (as well as nearly 200 Virtual Console titles) by the end of 2007, and 450 DS games by then.

Nintendo have today released more information from their 2009 fiscal year reports, this time showcasing the lifetime sales figures for many of the company's top-selling titles. While we had some of these numbers last night, this is a far more extensive list, giving us lifetime, worldwide sales figures for every game on the Wii and DS that has sold over a million copies.

According to a recent interview, industry veteran Capcom has expressed interest in developing for Nintendo’s WiiWare platform. Christian Svensson, Capcom's VP of strategic planning & business development, had this to say: We’re looking for the right content first — a lot of the content we have now isn’t quite right in value or approach or interface for WiiWare.

"An unconfirmed report says the latest issue of Famitsu, the popular Japanese gaming mag, has listed summer release dates for both Super Mario Stadium Baseball and Disaster: Day of Crisis on Wii. According to the April 2008 issue of Famitsu (via Everyday Wii), the sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball will launch in Japan on June 19, followed by the release of Disaster: Day of Crisis, also published by Nintendo, on July 3."

Greg Biffle's Ford Fusion will sport Wii colors at the NASCAR Nextel Cup at the Glen on August 12 and the Dover 400 on September 23 reports the Sunday Hauler. If you're into NASCAR, Wii or collecting tiny toys, a diecast model of the Wii version at 1/24 scale is up for pre-order. Design sketch included.

10 Titles for 3DS Launch

Inside Games reports today that the 3DS's launch lineup for February 26 will include around 10 titles or so. The site says that specifics will be announced on Saturday, presumably at the Nintendo World demo event.
