Japan: Wii Beats PS3 5-to-1 in May

Square Enix reveals Eidos bid

Square Enix has revealed that it is the company behind the offer to buy UK publisher Eidos, first noted in the middle of last month, which could end the long-running saga of uncertainty that's surrounded the Tomb Raider house since late 2007.

Weekly PC Sales: Lich King Reclaims Its Throne

The latest PC sales figures from marketing research firm NPD Group are in, showing the ten most popular games at US retailers from January 4-10, 2009. After being dethroned by The Sims 2 Double Deluxe last week, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King reassumed the top spot. Meanwhile, Left 4 Dead rose from #7 to #3, Call of Duty and Fallout 3 dropped a few spots, and Red Alert 3 reappeared, probably because of a lower price.

Some additional # / facts : - Xbox 360 LTD ASP is $376.49 (official figure). - Tales of Vesperia, #58, 33,000 units. - Wii will pass 22 months at its launch price, breaking the record set by the Xbox 360's 21 months, and I don't expect Wii to drop until mid-2009, putting it out near 30 months at its launch price.

Square Enix Aims to Buy Majority Stake in Tecmo

Japanese videogame maker Square Enix Co said on Friday it aims to buy more than half of game developer Tecmo shares at 920 yen each, 30 percent higher than Tecmo's closing share price the previous day.
