Pachter: 360 & GTA:IV/360 outsells PS3

Videogaming247 - May 12, 2008

Submitted by deftangel (291) at 6:27AM PST on May 12, 2008

Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has just told videogaming247 that he expects Xbox 360 to have outsold PS3 in America last month, ahead of NPD data to be released this week. The analyst said that his research note on the figures is to be released in approximately 45 minutes. In a subsequent follow up he also pointed out that he expects the 360 version of GTA:IV to outsell the PS3. Not that that's news in itself.

Future Crytek titles will be multi-platform

PCPlay - April 29, 2008

“It is certainly. We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis. We seem to lead the charts in piracy by a large margin, a chart leading that is not desirable. I believe that’s the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy. To the degree PC Gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform. Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more. It was a big lesson for us and I believe we wont have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future."

NPD: Game Industry Sales Total $1.18 Billion in January

Gamedaily - February 14, 2008

Submitted by starship (297) at 3:56PM PST on February 14, 2008

Interestingly, on the hardware front all the talk lately of the PS3 coming on strong seems to be true. The console sold 269K units for the month, just slightly behind the Wii which was the best selling system with 274K units. The PS2 also continues to do remarkably well, selling 264K units. As for Microsoft, the Xbox 360 sold 230K units, perhaps slightly hurt by the shortage problem the company has made everyone aware of.
