Kotaku - January 14, 2009

Xbox 360 owners will be getting an early taste of Capcom's Resident Evil 5 come January 26th, when a one-week timed exclusive demo hits Xbox Live. The demo, much like the one released late last year in Japan, features two levels from the full game, Assembly Place and Shanty Town, allowing 360 owners to play either alone or with a friend via two-player co-op. In addition to the demo, Capcom is also releasing the high-definition trailer from the 2008 Tokyo Game Show on Xbox Live January 16th.

On first impressions, Masachika Kawata appears to be a stylish young producer. But the spiky hair, gold medallion hanging around his neck, and laid back demeanor disguise the fact that at Capcom, he's a very important person. Along with director Jun Takeuchi, Kawata is responsible for producing Capcom's most important game of 2009: Resident Evil 5.

These didn't seem worth posting as images but last week Famitsu promised they would show some Resident Evil 5 footage on a special DVD that would come with their latest issue. It is still unknown what exactly is on that DVD but it seems someone has got their hands on it, and has then taken a few screen captures from the disc. Eurogamer recently commented that we should expect no new footage to come from this disc, so don’t go and get to excited.
