Installs, it seems, are becoming commonplace — expected, even. Many game require them, and some even offer optional installs. So when Seb Downie, QA Manager at developer Guerrilla Games, fielded questions about the dev's upcoming PS3 exclusive, the install one of course came up. According to Downie: We are not planning to do any install... No install. Optional or otherwise.

But regardless of what side you're on, Killzone 2 is a lot of fun online and clearly offers a tremendously rich experience to PS3 owners. I was truthfully shocked at how close the multiplayer portion of the game looks like the incredibly vivid single-player we've seen so much of before. Every little detail seems reflected in the multiplayer. Overall, Killzone 2 was a blast -- even in my sleep-deprived state. I can't wait to see more.

Not pre-ordering Killzone 2? Curious as to when you'll be granted access to the demo on PSN? Short answer: Thursday, February 26th, a day before the game's official release, Sony has confirmed through MTV Multiplayer. Of course, those who pre-order the game -- exclusively through GameStop -- will be able to download and play the demo as early as February 2nd.

In fact, every box on our, “What makes an FPS great” checklist was ticked. Conversely, our, “What makes an FPS bad” checklist was bare. Basically, if you haven’t pre-ordered this by now, erm, pre-order it. Can’t say enough good things about it, if we’re being honest. Now we’re off to join the hour-long queue for another go. Turrah.

Guerrilla Games QA Manager Seb Downie popped into the "KILLZONE DATED!!" thread on the official PlayStation.com Forums to let us know that the developer hasn't sanctioned the release month 'confirmed' by SCEE earlier today. "Sorry folks, as before, please take any release dates, or months with a grain of salt," Downie writes. "If we haven't announced it, it is not gospel."

Looks like SCE is putting everything behind KZ2, as it will now include custom soundtracks, along with the long list of other known features. PS3-Sense writes "There are just a few games for the PS3 which are featuring in-game music, also known as custom soundtracks. Seb Downie, QA Manager at Guerrilla Games, today announced that the multiplayer of Killzone 2 will also feature custom soundtracks"
