Nintendo shoots down May release for Disaster

CVG - March 3, 2008

Nintendo has dismissed rumours that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be released in Europe on May 30, telling CVG that the information is "purely speculation." Last month, website Nintendic reported that the title would be available for 49.99 Euro / £39.99, quoting a source from a German retailer who's apparently accurately named the dates for Advanced Wars: Dark Conflict and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Disaster: Day of Crisis Still Exists

"Fortunately, the Monolith Soft developed action game for the Wii just got an M rating in Australia, so we know it's alive and... well, alive. The Office of Film and Literature Classification lists the game as potentially objectionable for its "Violence, themes and infrequent coarse language." Keep in mind that OFLC rating applies only to Australia and that we have no idea when it will be released — or if the rating is an indication it will be released any time soon."

New screens from the game from Nintendo's recent Japanese presser show that the game is still alive and still evolving, but details from the company were virtually nonexistent. The new shots show off the new "Lungs" meter and a "Concentration" bar that we're quite curious about...

Reggie not too keen on Disaster: Day of Crisis

IGN via GN - October 29, 2008

A snippet from an older IGN Voice Chat Podcast… We hung out with Reggie, and basically, he doesn’t think Disaster is a $50 game. Especially in terms of audio, which he said is laughable. He said he’s going to watch it and see how it performs in Europe. If it does well, you’ll probably get it in America, and if it’s a bomb, you probably won’t.

Eurogamer Review 6/10

"The result, ruinously, is not a disaster. It's just a bit average. If it had just been a bit more focused, perhaps sticking with the pleasing interchange of third-person exploring and first-person on-rails shooting, it would have succeeded. But the frenzy of different genres is only confusing, not letting any one element shine."
