It is perfect. It melds into a cohesive miracle that's greater than the sum of its undeniably fantastic parts. They've already sold millions of copies between the two Japanese releases, and if Nintendo's North American marketing push has anything to say about it, this release will probably follow suit. It's well-deserved as not only have they dismissed the genre trappings of the staid brain training phenomenon but they've created a great game and, more importantly, a great piece of art.

In an official fact sheet sent out today, the European version of the game will also be out on February 10. Same day. Earlier, even, what with time differences and all."

All you're actually downloading is a code to unlock puzzles which are already on the game cartridge -- essentially meaning that there's a set number of puzzles on the game (162, to be exact). GoNintendo discovered a supposedly complete list of the game's riddles to back up this claim. You can check out every single puzzle featured in the game, and even choose to sneak a peek at every solution as well.

And with a game this entertaining, that transcends demographics so stylishly, that offers such addictive just-one-more challenge -- well, the only real puzzle here is why anyone wouldn't want to give it a go.

The game looks to be extremely extensive with several dozen puzzles in the adventure, and then the extra puzzles that'll only be available when you hop online with the system. In all, there seems to be several hours of gameplay in Professor Layton's first adventure in the US.
