New TF2 Maps/Achievements

Shacknews - January 11, 2008

Submitted by Quinionn (2484) at 6:34PM PST on January 11, 2008

Two new maps for Valve's Team Fortress 2 will hopefully arrive within the next two months, the studio has informed Shacknews. One of the new arenas is a remake of Team Fortress Classic's Badlands map, with an emphasis on more vertically-oriented gameplay due to the presence of control points on towering spires. "Our estimate is that both these maps should be out within the next 2 months," Valve employee Robin Walker told Shacknews. "We expect to ship other new content before that."

"Portal is one of the most charming success stories of 2007. The game's creativity and heart is matched by its high quality -- and that's all backed by a romantic story of a bunch of students improbably scooped up and allowed to let their vision blossom at a top-tier studio."

This is pretty much a given as Doug Lombardi, Valve's Director of Marketing, had previously stated that "more Portal is definitely on the way." However, until now we weren't sure if this would be in the form of a direct sequel or possibly downloadable content. Well, now we know.
