Battalion Wars II's US Release Date will be September 24. That's a day before Halo 3's release. Not a good sign.

Underground Online Hands-on "Using the pointer(Wiimote), you're able to aim, set waypoints, select targets, and just about everything else you can think of. Unfortunately, things didn't go overly well. Trying to communicate commands to your squad while pointing the remote this way and that proved decidedly difficult, and we were soon set upon by medium tanks and rocket launchers."

IGN Review: 8.0/10.0 Impressive

IGN - October 31, 2007

Submitted by rikitikitik (288) at 6:29PM PST on October 31, 2007

No breakthroughs are to be found in Battalion Wars 2 according to the review, but nevertheless a great update to its predecessor with a better storyline, a greater variety of units and maps, a deep online component, and a mostly-intuitive control system among others. "Even with a few missteps, Battalion Wars 2 remains a quality title that I can recommend to anybody who liked the original or to any Wii owners interested in an action game that requires a little more smarts to complete."

AMN Preview "The remote works as your pointer to aim and with the nunchuck, you control your current unit. One of the big downsides of Battalion Wars was that commanding different units was too complicated. The controls are much simplified in this new instalment. To let your fellow units attack, you simply press the A button to let them do what you do; attack the same unit, move to the same spot. Moving the nunchuck and remote lets your soldier do the necessary jumping and rolling around."

"We didn't get to see a lot of Battalion Wars 2, but what we saw looked right in line with the original game's mechanics and spirit. Though Nintendo's scarcely taken the wraps off this one, the game is due out in just about two weeks, so we'll bring you more info--and a final verdict--very soon now. "
