LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Hands-on

"There are lots of reasons to go nuts for a new LEGO Star Wars game. You get to run around as little plastic versions of your favorite Jedi, there's a seemingly endless amount of stuff to collect, and it's fun to use the Force. But the big selling point of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is simple; you use the Wiimote as a lightsaber. If that concept doesn't sell you on this game, you have no soul. Yes, Wii fans, all the fun of LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game (that's the one that followed the new movies) and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (that's the one that's pretty self-explanatory) is set to rock that white rectangle in your living room on one disc with a starship's worth of extras."

It's not quite every Star Wars fanboy's dream, but pretty close. You swing the Wii remote to slice enemies, aim blasters, and deflect incoming laser fire. The remote is also used to speed up building (by moving the remote and nunchuck up and down) and grappling (by moving the remote upwards).

Last week LucasArts announced that a new addition to the LEGO Star Wars franchise was coming this fall. Initial data, was scarce, but a now an update hopefully clears things up a bit. - Adds new levels, new characters and new features to the fun, creativity and tongue-in-cheek humor that made LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy such huge hits.

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga will be appearing on all next gen consoles, and the DS. It will not be a simple rehash of the previous games, but will include new characters, features, and levels for the game, including a re-creation of Episode II's flying car chase sequence with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker in pursuit of bounty hunter Zam Wessell. There are more details in the article.

Will we ever get complete control of Star Wars'...

gamesradar.com - November 7, 2007

"Two upcoming games offer lightsaber control via the Wii remote - Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and the still-very-much-under-wraps Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Having already sampled the former, we know that the on-screen saber-wielder performs only a loose interpretation of the gestures executed by the player. So why are we not given complete control over our luminescent stick?"
