MK just got Eighted BABY: 8

MORE LIKE EXHILAREIGHTED: "It's intense, addictive and powerfully exhilarating. It blends cartoon foolishness with a viciously random cruel streak. But beneath both is a deep, precise, and technically rewarding racing game that you can sink hours into in time trial alone. In other words, it's classic Mario Kart."

Somewhere in the world, most likely floating in-between clouds eight and ten, is the only games journo to have enjoyed hands-on time with Mario Kart Wii. How'd he infiltrate Ninty HQ? No one knows. Maybe he hid inside one of Reggie's giganto pockets. Whatever, he's the luckiest man on earth, and either way, he's being evilly coy with the details. Fess up!

Mario Kart Wii held back for early '08 "void"

CVG - July 20, 2007

Submitted by flast (640) at 9:45AM PST on July 20, 2007

The rumours were right about Mario Kart Wii showing up at E3 last week, they were wrong about it coming out this year--Nintendo tells CVG it has enough big games for Christmas and wants to hold something back for the typical New Year "void".

Mario Kart Wii biggest seller in 2008

VG247 - February 2, 2009

Submitted by deftangel (291) at 4:04AM PST on February 2, 2009

A joint report from NPD, GfK Chart-Track and Enterbrain has just claimed that Mario Kart Wii was 2008’s biggest selling game across the US, Europe and Japan. The Wii racer sold 8.94m units last year, beating off Wii Fit with 8.31m sales and GTA IV which moved 7.29m copies. Super Smash Bros. Brawl came fourth with 6.32m sales, and Treyarch will no doubt be thrilled with a fifth place for World at War and 5.89m units sold, even without a Japanese release.
