Towards the end we started having some serious conversations about what we were going to do, but we ended up pulling it off, so we're very proud of that.

DE boss backs away from Dark Sector PS3 debacle

Digital Extremes CEO James Schmalz has been quick to nullify remarks made by producer Josh Austin yesterday regarding the PS3 version. “Never once did we feel we could not pull off the PS3 version of Dark Sector. As with all PS3 games, it takes skill and time to optimize and we spent a great deal of time doing that, it did take one final push to get the PS3 version performing as well but never once did we think it couldn't be done, it was simply a matter of finishing a game.

Dark Sector Progress Report

While we were crawling around the island's back alleys and ducking behind crates and walls, yet another group of bad guys popped up, ready to blow Hayden's head off. We rushed at him, pressed the onscreen button command and Hayden spun behind the bad guy before cutting the soldier's throat with no remorse

Pre-E3 2007: Dark Sector Hands-on

IGN - June 25, 2007

Submitted by jameseyryan (225) at 6:56AM PST on June 26, 2007

June 25, 2007 - They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that's truly the case, then the team at Canadian developer, Digital Extremes, really, really likes Gears of War. Dark Sector plays and feels almost exactly like it -- right down to its cinematic storytelling, control scheme and visual style. In fact, Dark Sector is so reminiscent of Gears that there's even a context-sensitive action button that powers its cover system. There's a sprinting option that comes complete with a handheld "shaky-cam" point of view as well.
