Rockstar's been awfully apologetic about the game-breaking bugs and glitches present in the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition (as they should be). In the latest public apology, a Rockstar Games representative is promising a fix within the next week, in the form of a title update via Xbox Live.

A patch for Bully: Scholarship Edition has been released on Xbox Live in lieu of the "broad worldwide announcement" expected today. But what does it fix? We don't know for sure, and various readers have reported the technical problems are either not fixed at all or in some cases worse. We've contacted Rockstar for more information.

I just spoke to a Rockstar rep who has confirmed to me that the problems people have been having with Bully: Scholarship Edition have been identified and the work on the patch is finished. It's up to Microsoft now to approve the patch for mass download. Hopefully, Microsoft will approve it very soon. Keep checking RockstarWatch as we are constantly checking for the patch's release.

Had the crash problems not made it into the retail code, we might have scored it higher, but Rockstar's programmers are in detention this week sorting it out, so hopefully within a few days of your reading this we won't feel like beating them up behind the bike-sheds as we do now. The fact we're so happy to be playing Bully again in spite of this ought to speak for itself.

Rockstar announced today that Bully: Scholarship Edition will be released on March 4 in the United States. Three days later, the game will arrive in the UK. Bully: Scholarship Edition takes place in the fictional New England boarding school of Bullworth Academy, and tells the story of 15-year-old Jimmy Hopkins as he experiences the highs and lows of adjusting to a new school.

Seriously, who as a kid hasn’t been the victim of bullying at some point? Even if you yourself were predominantly a bully, the childhood food chain dictates that there’s an abuser for almost everyone, no matter how big you are.
