RUMOR: Call Of Duty 5 Heading For The Pacific?

Kotaku.com - December 10, 2007

Submitted by feelmyring (351) at 6:44AM PST on December 10, 2007

"Someone who is more than close enough to know such things has tipped us off over the weekend that, yes Treyarch are indeed hard at work on COD5. And that, yes the series is heading back to WWII. What we didn't know is that the game's set in the under-utilized Pacific theater, something only one major WWII shooter has tried before. If this game can branch out and explore some of the less 'popular' aspects of the conflict, it might not be so bad."

Call of Duty 5 likely not to be developed by Infinity Ward

With the newly merged Activision Blizzard's desire to turn the Call of Duty, Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero franchises into "yearly franchises" it looks likely that Infinity Ward will not be developing Call of Duty 5.

Premium 'Day One Advantage' heading to CoD: World...

Joystiq - September 16, 2008

Submitted by noobie (468) at 12:45AM PST on September 17, 2008

Treyarch Community Manager JD took to the webs to clarify rampant rumors regarding this "Day One Advantage" – it's not a way to earn experience quicker; it's not a DLC pack available on "day one" and it's not a free backrub from the developers at Treyarch. Instead, it's "immediate access to a high-level rifle (for pre-orders) or LMG (for collector's edition) that other players will have to unlock via ranking up in multiplayer."

Call of Duty 5: Futuristic warfare?

The Call of Duty series is ones of Activisions most prised franchises. Famed for its realistic World War 2 combat, it was no wonder that many eyebrows were raised when Call of Duty 4 went modern.
