Sega is counting on the Wii rekindling of a 16-year old rivalry will match the sales of the first shot fired in the Mario VS Sonic war back in 1991. The original Sonic The Hedgehog sold 4 million copies, and Sega's Masanao Maeda says Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games will do the same.

Nice job, the post is over 2 month old. I had a lot of ifs, and one is definitly not true: The controls. It is heavy advertised in Europe though. Don't know where you get official numbers, but it isn't doing bad in Europe/UK (if you go by VGC, Chart Track), doing bad in NA (again VGC, but they tend to underestimate the casual market compared to NPD) it had a decent release in Japan (not bad not good).
Again, the 4 Million is not my prediction, and was most likley for both version of the game (DS+Wii). 2 Million isn't out of the question for the Wii version. And the DS version should do outstanding in Japan, being a mario sonic minigame collection on the DS.
