"Microsoft is now claiming a 7-game attachment rate per 360 sold — what they call a "record" for "consoles in relative history." Considering that most games for the 360 hit shelves at $60 a pop, not only are gamers buying more titles, but they're probably spending more money on said titles than ever before."

The most interesting to note in this article is that Microsoft is claiming a record software attachment rate for consoles for the 360 (even though Microsoft stated "consoles in relative history"). In saying relative history, I believe that Microsoft is only speaking towards the Wii and PS3 (this claim would be correct under those circumstances), though it is possible that Microsoft is also speaking about consoles from last generation, most likely the PS2 since it is the only one still around - I believe that it would be interesting to see where the attachement rate for the 360 is compared to the PS2 numbers that are available as well as the other last-generation consoles (especially the original Xbox because this would show the relative business success for Microsoft).
