So it would make sense to think the added density and tactile feedback would drain batteries with haste, but our lab results proved quite the contrary. The Xbox 360 controller endured an impressive 56 hours and 56 minutes, the most of any wireless controller we tested.

I don't really see the point of this article. Why wouldn't people just pony up the extra $20 for the charge kits? It'll save more money in the long run, even though it requires a moderately more expensive initial outlay. The best part (about Xbox 360 and PS3, at least), is that they charge through any USB port. I've got two Xbox and 1 PS3 chargers hooked up to my computer at all times; if I notice a battery running low, I throw it on the charger.
