Epic’s in development Unreal Engine 4 will specifically be targeted at the next generation of consoles and not PCs.
“Version 4 will exclusively target the next console generation, Microsoft's successor for the Xbox 360, Sony's successor for the PlayStation 3 - and if Nintendo ships a machine with similar hardware specs, then that also. PCs will follow after that."

RE: Unreal Engine 4 Exclusively Targeting ConsolesPerhaps since Nintendo now have the unique-controller thing sorted, their next console will be equal in power to the MS and Sony ones but with an improved Wiimote-style motion sensor. Just think of something better looking than Assassin's Creed, with proper motion sensing (ie position of wiimote = position of sword etc. rather than the gesture-based Wii). "Proper motion sensing", as you call it, will NEVER happen.
For one thing, translating controller motions into a game requires complex calculus...the developer even has to factor in the fact that player arm lengths are different and will affect how an arc of motion will be. Also, if your on-screen character hits something, their weapon stops...your controller does not. Immediately, you're out of position.
It just can't happen.
