The Japanese electronics and entertainment conglomerate said it targets PlayStation 3 videogame console sales of 10 million units this year compared with 9.24 million in the year just ended.
Sony, which competes with Microsoft Corp and Nintendo Co Ltd in the global videogame industry, also aims to sell 15 million PlayStation Portable handheld game machines this year, up from 13.9 million units in the 2007/08 business year.

Reducint the price of teh PS3 by $149 isn't feasable. The PS3 is by far a more advanced piece of hardware. With its standard Hard Driv , cell procesor, and blu ray drive, competing price point wise with teh wii isn't possible.
The PS2 is the wii's direct competion for, and the PS3 is in competition with the 360. But If the PS3 cuts its price MS will also cut the 360 price, and vise vera. Both companies realize that so there shouldn't be another price cut until the end of the year, unless one of the systems starts to lag in sales.
