WoW isn't a unique case - it is just the only case we have seen thus far. Any MMORPG can have long legs, but they must be able to get a community behind them and offer top tier product as well as receive patches and expansions. Nancy Drew is definitely aimed at girls. I also think most high schoolers are past the Disney Channel phase. Most of those shows like "Hannah Montana" and "High School Musical" are aimed at the preteen crowd despite their misleading names.[ Oracle ] [ Level 30 ] [ Rank: 4 ]bids

I remember that lots of people believe that all MMORPG game, including AoC, would / should have legs.

I don't believe MMORPGs have legs that are any longer than normal just because of their genre, WoW is a unique case. After a month or two most games, including MMORPGs disappear from the charts never to be seen again.

Nancy Drew is a monster. This is at least the third Nancy Drew to debut at the top of the weekly PC charts since I've been watching. I never said at all it can't be replicated, for some reason you inferred that yourself. Please reread my original comments. In the long run, of course there will be another game that sells like WoW, but for now WoW is unique in acquiring over 10 million users and it's still growing.
