Japanese game developer Tecmo Ltd will start merger discussions with fellow developer Koei Co, knocking back a proposal from bigger rival Square Enix, the Nikkei business daily reported.

Is merger with KOEI better for the company (not employee) ? Are Koei strong enough to handle Tecmo Lawsuit ? Will merger affect the current lawsuit by Itagaki and others ?
When I compare SE's Income Statement with Koei's income statement, it seem that SE has bigger revenue (147 Million vs. 29 Million), but smaller percentage of profit Margin after tax (9 vs 5). Will Koei bite ? I have a feeling they will not bite (different management style).

If they merged I think it would be great for Koei, if they lawsuit is taken care of. I get the impression that Koei is smaller, has less money, and cannot take as many risks as Tecmo and every other larger company. It would be great to see Koei able to make new games instead of having to rely on sequels more than almost any other company that exists.
