There are three new entries at the top of the individual formats chart this week. The top ten: 1. Gears of War 2, 2. LittleBigPlanet, 3. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS), 4. Mario Kart Wii, 5. Fallout 3 (360), 6. Wii Fit, 7. Wii Play, 8. FIFA 09 (360), 9. Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training (DS), 10. Fable II. First week sales for Gears are the 3rd highest of any 360 game. A few more details from the Chart Track blurb:
- Gears 2 has the 3rd largest first week for a 360 title, behind GTAIV and Halo 3, and the 8th largest week 1 overall.
- Fallout 3 sales down 42%.
- All versions of Guitar Hero: WT combined only made it to 17 in the all formats chart.
My thoughts:
Gears isn't really a surprise, but Layton is. Motorstorm 2 got off to a pretty bad start at number 28. Endwar didn't make the individual formats top 40, although it probably isn't far off. Warhammer is down to 18 (of 20) in the PC chart, so this could be its last week.
