Is PC gaming giving way to today's more versatile and powerful consoles? Not according to a market study recently conducted by research group JPR, which claims that more gaming PC's have been sold over the past three years than Xbox 360s, PlayStation 3s, and Wiis combined.The study goes on to conclude that the $20 billion dollar PC gaming market, predicted to rise to $34 billion by 2011, was bigger, worth more money, was growing faster and had better tech than the console market could provide.

while it's an interesting fact and healthy competition if it's the gaming pcs sold that doesn't quite convince me: i know waaaay too many people/companies that buy a top of the line PC thinking "we need a good PC" even if they totally don't require that kind of power anddon't take advantage of it (certainly not the way a gamer would)[ Oracle ] [ Level 20 ] [ Rank: 444 ]bids

Seriously though, it doesn't surprise me. I for one am a PC gamer also, have been my whole life. I've bought a decent amount of games in the PC format this year too. I usually choose the PC if I want better graphics for my game, or if its PC only. This year I got Crysis, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Witcher, Spore, and Fallout 3.

In fact I must be one of the few 360 owners who has not played or purchased Halo 3 or GoW2.
