The global economic slowdown is applying more pressure on videogames publishers as retailers in the US slash their stock orders.
In a bid to limit any risk of piling up unwanted inventory - if consumers stop buying games - all five key retail chains in the territory have started to cut their day one orders, causing growing concern among the publishing community.

I used to supply ERP S/W for manufacturers, which is why I am familiar with JIT (or Kanban). I suspected that you are in the manufacturing world based on your usage of JIT (which not many non-manufacturing people are aware of).
Did your company applied TOC or "Theory of Constraint" yet ? This is the latest JIT-inspired manufacturing buzzword, that in addition to manage inventory, it also manage process (it is an advances form of process flow, so to speak). ToC is not applicable to every manufacturing company, just like JIT is not applicable to every manufacturing company.
