Take-Two Interactive has shipped over 13 million copies of Grand Theft Auto IV, the company announced today, revealing sales of more than $256 million for its holiday 2008 quarter and a $50 million loss.
GTA IV figures were dated to January 31st, prior to the release of the first downloadable episode The Lost And Damned.

Whats interesting is the fact that GTA IV Sales Split 50/50 over Xbox and PS3.
"Speaking in a conference call following Take-Two's recent financials, one analyst asked, "...can you give us an idea as to this 13 million GTA 4 units, how many of those are Xbox 360 platform? So what's the addressable market for the downloadable The Lost and Damned."
The response from Lainie Goldstein, CFO of Take-Two, was, "It's approximately 50/50, Ed."

Interesting :
"Grand Theft Auto IV sales reached 10 million in its first four-and-a-half months on the market, with the next 3 million taking five-and-a-half months"
The next 3 Million (from 10 increased to 13) included holiday 2008, so IMO the GLS should top out at 15 - 17 Million, IF there is no Platinum (lower priced) release or no significant increase in PS3X360 userbase.
"Both sales and losses were up from the same quarter from the previous year, with sales up by $16.4 million, losses increasing by $12.4 million. Take-Two said that higher marketing, legal fees and R&D costs led to the increased losses"

Probably better # for PS3 from Europe and Japan, the area where PS3 userbase are bigger than X360. There are differences of about 1.3 - 1.5 Million between X360 and PS3 version in US, based on NPD.
There is also a factor of, for example : Actual split is 52(X360):48(PS3) which can be legally translated into "approximately 50/50". Same thing can happen with 54.5(X360):45.5(PS3). With 54.5:45.5, there are about 9% difference between X360 and PS3, which with 13 Million x 9% = 1.12 Million differences.
The other factor is that the info is coming from CFO, not product manager, so the figure could be categorized as "If I recalled it correctly", since there is a possibility that the CFO didn't really remember user split, and he just wanted to have some figure thrown out as answers (better compared to "I don't know, I'll get back to you later" response).
