Blizzard is doing something pretty unusual by launching the game at the same time in North America, Europe and South Korea, ensuring the biggest possible impact for the release. The developer also stated that it planned to offer a digitally distributed version of its new title shortly after reaching stores.

RE: StarCraft II Could Sell 5 Million Copies in One YearI'm not sure why the author thinks a simultaneous North American, Europe, and South Korea release is so newsworthy. I know for sure Warcraft 3 was released in Taiwan the same day as in US, so only mentioning South Korea is understating the release in Asia.
