Filing law suits against the big three console manufacturers seem to be the in thing lately, and now Lonestar Inventions wants to join in. According to the article, the Texas-based company alleges that the Wii infringes on a patent they owned that was issued back in 1993 for a "high capacitance structure in a semiconductor device."
The company had filed similar suits before with Texas Instruments and Marvell Semiconductors that were eventually settled.

Though, personally, I'm not all that fond of patent trolling, especially when they use obvious patents. But I haven't read the patent in this case so I don't know how strong their argument is.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 290 ]bids
