Nintendo Q3: Forecasts down on ¥48 billion net loss

Nintendo’s has lowered its forecasts for FY2012 after reporting a net loss of ¥48.3 billion loss for the nine month period ending December 2011, compared to a profit of ¥49.5 billion in the previous corresponding period. Nintendo’s net sales were at ¥556.1 billion for the period, down from ¥807.9 billion in the same nine months in 2011. It now expects a full-year loss of ¥65 billion. Sales for the year are now predicted to be at ¥660 billion, down from a previously expected ¥790 billion.

Resident Evil 6 is indeed in development for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. We can also confirm RE6 pairs Leon S Kennedy and Chris Redfield together, and is scheduled for release on November 20, 2012. Leon investigating a small town that's suffered a Raccoon City-like infestation, while Chris heads to China for an all-out assault on the front lines. These two play styles merge to form "dramatic horror," which fuses action, tension and scares in a brand new way.

Since last August, Xbox Live has grown by another 5 million members to 40 million in total worldwide, helping to grow Microsoft's second quarter financial earnings in the Xbox division by 15 percent from the previous quarter. So, what did the Xbox division pull in between October 1 and December 31 (its financial "Q2") in terms of actual dollars? About $4.24 billion, says the company in its latest financial earnings statement

According to the latest reports, the characters and vehicles of one of the year's most anticipated games - "Halo 4" - will be revealed at the forthcoming 2012 Toy Fair, to be held in London. Toy specialist "Re:creation" will be showing off its "Halo 4" line-up of die cast vehicles and characters from the game as a first glimpse of the actual game. The exhibition will include a highly detailed and collectable 14-inch Warthog.

Crafted by DeviantArt user "oddeh," the "board" is essentially a giant graphic overlay designed to be dropped on top of existing Monopoly game boards that replaces the old property squares with more Dovahkiin-centric locales. For instance, "Boardwalk" has been replaced with the town of Solitude while the "Community Chest" and "Chance" card piles have been replaced by "Guild Missions" and "Daedric Quests," respectively.

All things considered, 2011 was a pretty solid year for the 3DS. Despite an incredibly slow adoption rate at launch and the resultant corporate turmoil, buyers on the fence were eventually persuaded by a massive price drop and 3D remakes of yesteryear's classics. By the end of 2011, Nintendo had sold "more than 4 million" of its stereoscopic wunderkind to US consumers, as well as 1 million units each of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7.

So eSports is catching on, huh?...Well, people tuned in to a bunch of people competing against each other playing games such as Black Ops, Halo – Reach and Starcraft 2. The Major League Gaming has done quite a bit of good promotions it seems. The MLG hosts six marquee Pro Circuit eSport tournaments each year. These tournaments are supported by all those who are watching via dedicated real time streams. This season has just ended and has proven to be the best yet.
