In the fourth installment of the Devil May Cry series, the player takes the role of Nero, a new character, who at times will fight alongside Dante (the player's usual role in the series). The game features a gothic setting in which you must fight demons using swords and firearms. The game is said to play similarly with previous games but with graphics fitting for next-generation consoles.
Nero can attack using his sword, named Red Queen, his double-barrel revolver named Blue Rose, and his demonic arm, named Devil Bringer. In addition to your usual melee sword fighting and ranged shootouts, Nero's demonic arm lets you grab enemies from a distance and throw them or pull them in to attack.
The game is said to feature more weapons, maneuvers, enemies, locations, music, and cutscenes than all the previous releases combined.

Strong performance in all 3 regions.
The article uses Amazon rankings in US, UK, & Japan which isn't definitive, but can show trends. Of note is that both the regular edition and limited edition charted well for the PS3.

Today, Capcom announced that since its release in the US and Europe earlier this month and in Japan in January, Devil May Cry 4 has sold over 2 million units worldwide.
DMC4's rapid success makes the game the fastest-selling installment in the seven-year-old series. It also accounts for just under a quarter of the entire franchise's total of 9 million units in sales, according to Capcom.

I assume you are speaking of the GLS stocks for DMC4, not the consoles. The NPD data certainly points to weaker demand for DMC4 on 360 relative to PS3. If the GLS stocks were priced accordingly to match the expectations of these futures, then long the DMC4 (PS3) stock and short the DMC4 (Xbox 360) GLS stock may be a play. However, I have found that the NPD Futures and the GLS stocks are not always inline with their expectations.[ Guru ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 219 ]bids
1Based on Feb NPD data the PS3 version of DMC4 is selling at a ratio of 44:56 vs its Xbox counterpart. (Does that make sense?).
Given the install base and the lack of Xbox in Japan (to speak of) is this a damper on the long term sales for Xbox or a boost to the PS3 GLS?

I'm inclined to guess Europe a bit higher as it charted well in the UK. Lost Planet was a big success with the early release over here and the £10 price difference from most other releases (on the 360 version) will have given it a boost.
I'm inclined to agree with you on the PS3/360 split as well, I'm short on the PS3 future. I don't think it'll break 300k[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 291 ]
