No More Heroes (formerly known as 'Heroes'), is a new game from Goichi Suda (SUDA-51), who created Killer7. The game is exclusive to the Wii and promises to be one of the more graphically intense games for the Wii. You take the role of Travis Touchdown an aspiring assassin who won a katana through an Internet auction. He dreams to become the world's #1 ranked assassin.
You can freely roam the city called "Santa Destroy." Combat involves using the Wii-mote in sword fights. However, rather than having the player use the controller as a sword, you merely have to press A to swing the sword and shake the controller to execute a finishing move. Raising the Wii-mote will change Travis' battle stance to raising the sword over his head. The game features cel-shaded graphics.

No More Heroes sells well

Update: No More Heroes sold more than 100k out of 200k shipments in the US since launch, plus in Europe it has more than 160k pre order. Finally they shipped 40k copies in Japan for a total of 400k shipment worldwide and hope for 500k LTD sales worldwide.

"Potential happy news from retailers: according to Amazon, GameCrazy, and Gamefly, the release date of No More Heroes has been moved ahead, from early February to late January. Amazon and GameCrazy list the game as releasing on January 22nd, while Gamefly places the game's release on the 24th. From a sales perspective, any move to prevent No More Heroes' burial by Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a good move..."

"Famitsu did give No More Heroes a fantastic score of 9 8 8 9. For a mag like Famitsu that is usually known to be very picky about handing out high scores, No More Heroes must be awesome. I’ve got the latest issue of Nintendo Power in today and it’s got a huge section covering the game."

The combined sales of GC and PS2 versions of Killer 7 in the first month was slightly more than 25k.

That is basically what I meant. So, if anyone has some numbers on Killer7 and how that performed, then I would say that this title will easily outsell those numbers.
In the history of the Wii thus far, the more hardcore games have seen most of their sales during their first 6 months, so by the end of summer, the sales for this title will be essentially over with other than some extra sales as the price goes down and some new Wii owners that may pick up the title.[ Oracle ] [ Level 20 ] [ Rank: 294 ]bids
