Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is a new Resident Evil game designed specifically for the Nintendo Wii. The game plays like an arcade light gun on rails game. The game will automatically move you and monsters will pop up for you to shoot. The Wiimote is used to control the crosshair while the Nunchuk can be used to change your view.

The games story will cover Resident Evil 0 through 3 from the perspective of the Umbrella Corporation. You will go through many familiar locations from the previous games, along with the zombies and dogs you have grown so found of.

Hands-On: "There's no denying that the end experience is still a fun one. It looks good, too...Kawata is promising that the title will run between 15 and 20 hours long and while many of the environments will look familiar -- you'll play through portions of Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3 -- this will be the first time most of them have been realized in true 3D." Further details on difficulty and gameplay.

Capcom is pleased to announce that "Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles", which was released in November 2007 for the Wii® has shipped over 1 million units worldwide. The Resident Evil series, which has sold over 34.5 million units globally (as of February 29, 2008), is one of Capcom's most critically acclaimed and beloved franchises. As a testament to Resident Evil's longevity and success, the series remains as innovative and original today as when the first title shipped in 1996.

Hands-on: "you'll occasionally come across a timed action scene that makes you hit the A button as soon as a cue flashes onscreen to avoid taking damage from a surprise attack of some kind...You can use the Nunchuk's analog stick to look around a little"

Hands-on: "it is an on-rails shooter. A particularly boring one at that." A less than favourable preview.
