Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is an online-focused first person shooter that lets players divide into two teams as they reenact the fictional human/Strogg war that serves as the basis for the famed Quake series. The game is set approximately 60 years in the future, as the alien Strogg suddenly invade Earth and the Global Defense Force must battle the invaders off the planet. Quake Wars focuses on teamwork, different classes, and infantry and vehicular combat. The gameplay, while fun on PC, was clearly better-suited for the world of a keyboard and mouse combo than a controller. Toss in the fact that the game runs and looks like garbage on PS3 and first-impressions for most will be less than stellar. Then there are things like item placement and orientation (facing your turret in the proper direction), aiming, weapon selection and the general speed of the gameplay that are simply better handled on PC than they are here

It's no secret that 2007 is going to be a big year for online shooters. Shadowrun, Unreal Tournament 3 and Team Fortress 2 are all to hit shelves before the year's end, and Splash Damage's Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will likely see retail release as well.
