Resistance: Fall of Man is a launch title for the PS3. It is a first-person shooter set in an alternate 1951 where the Great Depression, WWII, and Communism did not occur. Instead, humanity is under the onslaught of an invasion by the race known as "Chimera." This setting sets many of the gameplay features, including weapons and vehicles based off of the 1950s but matching the world of this alternate universe.
The game makes use of the PS3 motion sensing controller. Players will be able to shake off opponents by shaking the controller, among other motion sensing features. Resistance: Fall of Man also features online multiplayer using a smart matchmaking and ranking system. Games are highly customizeable and include several maps and game modes. Players will be able to form clans and build buddy lists. The game will also feature downloadable content. According to Insomniac Games, the game will run at a consistent 30 FPS offline and online, no matter how intense the battle.

I suspect that this game is actually a little undervalued. While RFOM has already seen a Christmas in both the Americas and in Japan, it hasn't yet in Europe, and as the flagship title in advertising over there (and IIRC a bundle as well) one would think there is still some life in the game.
If there is a RFOM2 announcement you can also bet there will be a spike in sales, as we have seen in the past for other titles like this, plus with all the game delays there still aren't a whole lot of decent FPS titles on the PS3.[ Oracle ] [ Level 22 ] [ Rank: 122 ]bids
