THQ is bringing their maniacal alien Crypto to the Wii with a brand new game in the franchise, built specifically for the Wii for release in early 2008.
The game will allow players to guide the destructive alien through a "funked out" 1970s city on foot, in a UFO or in the Big Willy mech.

"Big Willy Unleashed isn't a bad game; it just feels extremely watered-down. Perhaps it's because all the real effort is being put into Crypto's upcoming PS3 debut, but this feels like a pale imitation of the other DAH titles."

Big Willy Unleashed doesn't bring enough to the series to make it feel fresh to veteran players, but it could provide a decent amount of entertainment to newcomers. Wanton destruction is still a lot of fun -- I just hope that future installments innovate instead of sticking squarely to the foundations set by the original game. And please, next time around, give us multiplayer that feels like more than an afterthought.
