The games are PSP remakes of the first two Star Oceans, featuring redone graphics that mix 2D and 3D elements, voice acting, and new cinematics that include animation from well-known Japanese animation house Studio IG. "Star Ocean: First Departure is a textbook example of how to do a remake correctly. The game maintains enough of the core gameplay of the original game to keep fans happy, while offering enough new content to warrant going through the game all over again. The graphics and sound are unarguably better, stylistically consistent with the original, and more than able to compete with current generation games."

1PSP games on MetaCritic tend to top out at between 5 and 8 reviews. There are a few exceptions but you usually don't get alot of reviews, especially right now as the US market seems to be letting the PSP die off. Well, after 7 reviews of this game it is currently sitting at 76/100.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 475 ]bids
