"The second heart-stopping shooter by Monolith (after F.E.A.R.) continues the spine-tingling supernatural suspense story of an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to destroy a major American city. At the center of the calamity is the mysterious Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her triggered a chain of events that has spiraled completely out of control. Now that she has been loosed upon the world, the consequences will be unimaginable.

Although this game is technically a follow-up to F.E.A.R., the game will not carry the F.E.A.R. franchise name due to a shift in publishers -- instead, it will feature a new name for its frights. This next-gen entry is being developed separately yet concurrently with its PC twin of terror."

Project Origin continues the supernatural story with Alma loose on the world. We don't know a whole lot about the story yet, but the girl's presence can only mean bad things for those of us afraid of things that go bump in the night. A little bit more becomes known today thanks to a new trailer and interview with John Mulkey, lead designer for Project Origin. Enjoy.

Game Informer - February 6, 2009

After the embarrassment of The Perseus Mandate, F.E.A.R. 2 should be in consideration for comeback player of the year. The solid action core makes it worth a play. The multiplayer seems to be an afterthought. The game smartly uses a unique points-based system for selecting your weapon load, but the six vanilla multiplayer modes, limited weapon selection, and lack of a serious progression system keep this from being a destination.
