Pirates MMO to shut majority of servers Flying Lab Software has announced that it is to shut down seven of its 11 servers for the MMO Pirates of the Burning Sea. The developer credits the move to low server populations, a possible sign that the MMO has not done as well as predicted, and says they will be condensed for gameplay reasons. "Providing our customers with the best gameplay experience is our first priority," explained the company via its website.

Pirates loots IGN with 82.

IGN - February 1, 2008

"The real time ship combat is awesome in its tactical complexity and the player economy is deeper than we've seen in just about any other game. Unfortunately, the sword combat feels tacked-on and really cramps our swashbuckling groove."
