@Joe80, Very interesting point!! Could you please point me to where I could study that data too? I would love to be able to see console sales by year from launch, with launches aligned. I've read many times people likening Wii to PS2, but what bothers me is that while I believe in 2003, 3-4 years from launch if you ahd asked people what their most desired console was they would have still answered ps2 (I know I was), with Wii, even now, only 1 year in, asking the gamers who haven't yet bought in they answer either Xbox360 or PS3 as their most desired hardware/what they think is worth having for the years to come. Of course here we're styding actual sales regardless if they're made by dedicated gamers or if the console is bought by a grandma wanting to get something good/cheap for their kids, but still it may be an issue. I was reading today this article and it made sense to me what it argued: that though it may seem like it due to the huge explosion of casual gaming the industry would be trully foolish to kill it's golden goose, the dedicated gamers who constantly want something pushing the envelope.
