There is an intresting article posted by 13wonders up on pocketgamer.co.uk. I think we all knew sales of the PSP were not so hot but wow I am suprised at how poorly the PSP is doing. Here are some of the juiciest quotes.
"In the three months ending December 31st – the critical period that included the run up to Christmas – Sony shipped a mere 1.76 million PSPs worldwide, compared to 6.22 million in the same period in 2005. That's a staggering fall of 72 per cent."
"Previously swallowing up almost 1.7 million PSPs in Q3 2005, the run up to Christmas 2006 saw Sony ship a mere 100,000 PSPs to the territory (USA)."
Those are stunningly bad numbers. Honestly I always thought the 32-33 million number up here on the exchange was somewhat low but now it seems to be pretty accurate. Speaking anecdotally about myself I only know two people who have PSP's and one just sold it.
