Thank you for respecting my post. My issue is with Apujanata being his usual self.
I don't see how the 399 or the 449 console is premium. Historically consoles have been priced in the 200-400$ range. These are not considered premium consoles as Joe80 and I tried to point out.
Premium systems are ones that sold for more than the average person can afford. Clearly this does not include either PS3 model.
Examples of premium (in their time) items: * Sony XBR Series * Panasonic Cube * Panasonic 3DO * PSTwo * Logitech universal remotes * Lazy-boy chairs * LaserDisc * Jaguar
The PS3 is more like a BMW 3 series than a Jaguar. Overpriced? Maybe. Premium or Elite? Hardly.
By what metric do you consider LBP to not be a casual game. It is a game that can be anything to anyone? LBP is what you make of it, if anything at all. There are pack-in levels for the most uninitated gamer.
Again I just don't understand the idea that the PS3 is a premium console (its not). Its a console that is less than 500$, and is cheaper than high end video cards for PCs (it also happens to have the bonus of blu-ray!).
LBP is definately in both a marketing a, family collaboration, and gameplay sense an accessible game for all levels of gamer. Kids are going to love this game.
Pair that with a system that people want to own, and you have gold. I don't think it will sell 10 million, but it will sell PS3s. I have already 5 non-gamers looking to purchase their first console drooling over this game in my personal circle.

I disagree most respectfully! :D
