The vast majority of the target demographic of gamers who want to play Street Fighter IV, for example, are likely to already have purchased their next gen console be it a PS3 or an Xbox 360. If and when the PS3 gets to the same install base as the Xbox 360, it's not necessairly going to pick up a few more million users interested in purchasing games like SF:IV. The article is assuming that if the PS3 had X million more units sold, it would sell Y more copies of game Z than the 360. That doesn't stack up in reality.
