You should never rely on VGC for deciding on whether you should sell or buy simEx stock. There are lots of inaccuracies on VGC, and it can be easily proved.
Let's compare VGC's RE5 PS3 data with other sources : Japan : VGC have it at 0.74 Million, while Famitsu have it at 509K (Japan Gamecharts is english translation of Famitsu sales #). From Japan alone, we see that VGC overshoot one of Japan official source by 45% (percentage based on official figure)
RE5 is released March 13, 2009 in US. NPD Mar 09 contain first 4 weeks of sales. First 4 weeks of RE5 in US is 709,159 for America, which is equivalent to 616,968.33 for US (87% of America, according to VGC). NPD actual # is 585,000, which mean VGC overshoot NPD by 5%. RE5 US April (week 4 - week 8) is 103,399 for America, or 89957.13 for US. Actual NPD # for April 09 is not available officially, but unofficially (leaked) the # is between 70K - 80K. If we use 80K for NPD #, then VGC overshoot NPD # by 10%.
I believe that VGC # for US (and America) overshoot actual # by 5% - 10 %.
An easy way to check whether VGC RE5 # is correct or not is to compare total PS3 & X360 # (3.08M for PS3 + 2.68M for X360= 5.76M total) with Capcom's own RE5 #, 5.3 M. If Capcom only ship 5.3 M unit of RE5 game, how can it have 5.76M sold to customer # ?
Even if we assume that all shipped = sold (which is not true), then VGC # overshoot Capcom # by 8.7%.
