There has been speculation among stock traders that Apple, Inc will make a bid to buy Electronics Arts, Inc. Guy Adami made a comment today on Fast Money that the entire ERTS stock play at this point isn't about video game sales but an acquisition by Apple. See brief summary of comment here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/30548683
What are the thoughts on the viability in this rumor? The story is that Apple is looking to develop the iPhone and iPod Touch into a full gaming device. They have been poaching the top graphics hardware people from around the industry and recently poached people from EA as well. However, Apple has had a history of avoiding large acquisitions.
@lstormy10, Ya I was thinking that too, that was the only reason I could think of. I didn't expect it to be that popular even so though. There's more viewers than commenters.
@Joe80, I think it is due to the fact that it was a kind of a high profile title that people enjoy using as comparisons to other titles that are being traded.
Looks like I should've posted Boom Blox sales as an article, as I've lost 17 bids. But I didn't think there would be much interest in an unlisted game.
@Joe80, I have found the only way to find the game submissions marked as "passed" is to find an article, image, or video you may have submitted under that passed game's listing and click on the link provided with that article, image, or video. I had submitted an article under the Boom Blox listing and was able to get there to only be reminded that passed game listings do not allow for article, image, or video submissions.
Of course, if you know the exact page URL of a passed game listing, then you can also get to the page.
A similar situation occurred when the sales data about Guitar Hero: On Tour was released. I suggested then that the search function also searches passed games and shows them in a different results section - instead of not showing them at all.
@lstormy10, I could not find any Boom Blox submission at all. How did you find it as passed? I'll upbid your article too. Maybe we're okay with both getting bids.
@Joe80, I was posting an article as you submitted this comment.
However, I have run into a problem that some members have run into in the past. The Boom Blox stock page was marked as "passed" and does not show up in search results and does not allow for articles to be added.
I have upbid your comment since I was submitting the same info in article form at the same time.
