I thought so, but doesn't TSE impose proper limits on holdings? I see just 1.5 million on the board, but there could be other players holding that much. What are the implications of this?
I wonder if the price will stay at 7K even if the real value could be in the 7.5 range. At this point its not worth the risk for everyone. No one is able to sell at 7k...
with no buyers at that price (since the 360's actual sales projections can't be much higher), it seems this stock is at some sort of impasse....
This doesn't seem to happen to game titles because there are so many variables, but I find it interesting to see this amidst the first "strong 3 -corporate player" generation, where sales are easier to predict.
Maybe holding limits for overall system stocks should be decreased. We only get an opportunity to see this type of situation every few years.
The price has risen higher than that before. Now, it is just some high-ranked player with too much excess DKP who believes 70 million is a good sell point stopping the price being pushed higher. If other players are willing to carry on buying this, the ceiling will break eventually, unless the player opposing it has very much excess DKP to invest/stock to sell to prevent the price rising for a long time as I think there is some demand still for this at the current price.
Isn't it really odd to have this stock ceiling at 7000DKP?
It must be that many players are unloading their stock on order, but it just seems like there's an awful lot of value on the board (~1.5 million DKP) and very little incentive for TSE investors to purchase at that price.
Can 7000DKP be the end of the line for this stock? How does this come about?
Is this market manipulation by top users (with the most cash to hold up on an order), is this normal or is it simply a flaw in the TSE game?
It just seems like liquidity issue, where the only way for the water to flow is downhill.
It's a serious question guys. I'm not a trained financial analyst- my common sense gets me places in the market...but I've never seen this before.
Maybe someone can explain it to me what should happen here (if anything at all). Maybe someone has a real life analogue to this stock's situation....
oh man. seeing the numbers coming thru the pipeline... how did the 360 sell less than the ps3 in july?! that's crazy! all the analysts were completely wrong!
I think this stock is driven by sales numbers, but is constantly brough to earth by those that realize the PS3 is the tortise and the 360 the hare in the premium console race.
360 is unlikely to break 60-70 million consoles unless it can compete better with PS3 internationally (or if there is a sudden gamechanger...), hence the volatility at this level.
I've been trying to exploit this for the past few days (full disclosure) and am having trouble predicting the whims of other traders.
@Soltanus, A roll back is when all trading for a particular stock is undone for a specified amount of time. You weren't exactly charged for the roll back, but your account was just showing gains from the flawed trading that went on yesterday. Your holdings in the 360 stock are now just merely reflecting their value as of the end of August 4th (and any trading done after the roll back).
