I don't think a fighting game has the same casual appealing than a fun racing game. Sorry I really can't see that.
VGC has European sources. According to ioi they have overall and higher input on European sales than American sales. It is just that Europe has more countries and no public data to "fine tune" exept shipment numbers it took longer to get such charts up and running.
Well I believe you, as soon as you give me a pdf from Nintendo. I am to lazy to search, but I trust VGC to copy and paste numbers from shipment reports. So I don't have to look it up, do I?
How can you trust a site that does not have any European source for it's data.
They got called on it in the past and for a while they were not incorporating their Other category at all. Then they revamped everything and slipped the numbers back in later.
VGChartz is a very unreliable source for sales data and should be taken with a huge grain of salt, not quoted as fact to back up any argument.
Re: this game, both SSBB and Mario Kart are casual games that appeal to a wide audience, they will both sell well, but unless there is a serious change in sales from the past Mario Kart will not surpass Smash Bros in sales.
On old numbers they go by shipped copies, normaly. So I guess they found how much was shipped, something I couldn't (Or should I do all quarter reports). Yes I trust them on this one.
Well than they sold the same on the GC, so my point invalid? The Wii is a more casual console, more casual games will sell more? Why not? MK with the wheel should be a game everyone can play. No I don't go against Brawl, Wii Fit, Galaxy and Mario Kart, because I think 10M+ is likely, for all of them.
Are you serious, you're quoting VGchartz data from Europe especially, as fact? Give me a break.
There are numerous reports of Melee selling 6 million. The only source I can find that has Kart anywhere near that is VGchartz, and considering they have it a 20k more than Brawl thats not exactly the same as 4 million additional sales that we see on the stock price now is it.
@Just_Ben,I'm confused vgc says that MK sold the most wiki says that smash sould the most world wide 6,000,000 to 4,670,000 and in the US 4.05 million to 3.85 million.
