@deftangel, I remember seeing a post made by KoC that talked about those net cafe players. I tried searching for his post, but failed.
IIRC, in that post, KoC said that WoW needs specific license key for each account, not each computer. Therefore, for each player, they need to purchase a new game to get those license key, even if they play it in the net cafe.
Maybe you can search for KultofCows post yourself, and discuss things about it that might be wrong (I didn't play WoW, so I couldn't discuss things about it with you).
Big drop today but still a shade too high in my opinion. The previous expansion pack still didn't sell this many and time / Age of Conan / misc will have eaten a little into WoW's marketshare since then.
It appears there is still buying interest in Lich King at 10 million copies even though we have BC forecasted at just 10 million copies. This is a good short opportunity if people continue to buy at these levels.
Somehow Wrath of the Lich King was forecasting much more than Burning Crusade, even though the latter is a pre-requisite of the former. Wrath of the Lich King can't sell more than Burning Crusade, it is a second expansion that builds on it.
The bestiary page for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King has been updated with a new creature and two pieces of concept art from the upcoming expansion. the tenacious and stoic taunk
