Yes, there has been talk, but absolutely nothing specific besides the obvious "a board-shaped object would work for a game where you ride a board". Such games could be years away if developers are just thinking of the ideas now. In contrast, when they showed the Zapper they had 3 3rd party developers show off nearly-finished products.
There's been a fair amount of talk about games using the Fitboard as well.
I know there is supposed to be a full fledged Snowboarding game that uses it and Square stated they were working on an RPG that would use it as well.
Bundling like software like Wii Sports and Wii Fit would cause a surge in sales (going off the assumption the Wii will not be sold out for all of next year).
You may be right about just bundling SSBB or SMG instead, it really depends on what segment of the demographic they want to target, and how well things are going for them.
I disagree. Wii Fit will be their answer to those who love Wii Sports but avoid other titles, so they're not likely to bundle them together. Besides, they've already thrown more support behind the Zapper (at least 3 3rd party titles directly supporting it) and we're not hearing any talk of that being bundled with the console. I think Wii Fit is strong enough to stand on its own.
I think you have a good idea for Summer 2008 if sales start to decline (rather than waiting til the holidays). However, I think they're more likely to just package in a 1st party game (Brawl or Galaxy) than the Wii Fit board which would force them to use a much larger box and would take up more shelf space.
I think one of the keys to making the Wii Fitboard go mainstream will be to successfully bundle it with the Wii and sell millions of them worldwide. I could very easily see them do this with a $250 bundle come next Christmas if they do a $50 price drop next year.
This was already submitted back in April when it was tentatively known as Wii Health Pack. Since that unlisted game already has 17 bids, I suggest we just change the name of that one instead of having two listings referring to the same game
